Vacation: the real thing

I said that i would post on vacation, so here i am to keep my word, like a good boy should.

In a word, vacation was awesome. we did not get to go down to the college as planned, but it was still awesome. we started out by going to our friends house, who live in fenton michigan. they are the Mascows, and Mr mascow, or should i say PASTOR Mascow was our pastor... oh lets see... three pastors ago? something like that. anyway, we had not seen them in like 8 or 10 years, so i thought it was going to be a little bit weird trying to get re-introduced to andrews oncewas best friend, but it wasnt too bad. we stayed there over sunday and did special singing at their evening service. that was fun, and we also met a girl there, Rachel Cathrine (hence the new friend on facebook), who was pretty cool, so we had someone to talk to who was kinda like us. Josiah (andrews once was best friend) was a lot older, and had his own things going on, but ws still fun to talk to when we got the chance. the highlight of being there was definately the packers game we got to watch while we were there. wow, you have not seen a packers fanatic until you have seen Mrs Mascow. EVERYTHING in their house is packers, including garbage cans. anyway, when we won agianst the chargers, the house got pretty wild. after that, we said our goodbyes and left for kentucky. we stopped near hebron, and camped at a cempground called Big Bone Lick. that was seriously the nicest campground that i have ever stayed at. period. itw as clean, it had a good amount of open space, and close neighbors. normally, close neighbors are a bad thing camping... but when your neighbors are christian homeschoolers who are also going to see the creation museum, it makes a big differance. ((little side note--aaron thought mom just called him a bleeding corpse, but she didnt.--just a side note)) anyway, we managed to camp right between two christian homeschool families. one of them, the Churneys, had gone to the museum the day before we got there, and were going again the day after we planned on going. the Churneys had... lets see... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... 5 kids. a two-year old named mathew, a 7-year-old named aaron, a 10-year-old named emily, an 11-year-old named jacob, and a 14-year old named erica. we all got along well with them, and we are staying in contact with them through mail (yes, snail mail.). the other family, the Hansens (h-a-n-s-E-n, mos), were going to the museum on the same day we were... at the same time we were. what a co-inkeedink. we seemed to make instant friends with them, and we spent a lot of time with them. they had 3 kids: liam james, 2; McKenzie page, 11; and cassidy McKay, 13. it was kind of comical... i caught all of their middle names because their parents used them often. we are staying in cantact with them though msn, mial, and email. after leaving B.B.L, we drove all day and spent the night in like the creepiest campground ever. seriously, we got there, and there were a bunch of campers all in a big group, like they were all doing something together, but we didnt see anyone. on top of that, all of the campers looked like they had been there since the stone age. it was kinda like the people lived there. then, just after we had finished unpacking, all of the people showed up all at once, like they were getting back from work... it was kinda weird. but that was only half of it. we got down to the bathrooms, and for one, the stalls were only 4 feet high. you could look right into them without even trying. then, when you go to wash your hands, there is no soap or paper towels, and the water smells like egg salad. oh yea, the stall doors had no locks. and finally, the showers looked like moldy, rusty dungen cells. it was a nasty campground...yea. we did not get to go to andrews college as planned, because the car was overheating over the silliest things, so we didnt dare take it on the moutains, and decided to go back home. we then headed up to waupan, which is back in WI.. we have some friends there that we dont get to see very often, so on deciding not to go to the mountains, we decided to take a trip up to their house. it was there that we played our first game of tackle football. that was awesome. and after that we went home...yea.
